1. SCOPE AND CONSENT
This policy applies to our website and mobile application (Platform). By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this policy.
2. WHAT WE COLLECT
We collect personal information reasonably necessary to operate the Platform and support safe, dignified introductions:
Account and Contact: Name, email, mobile number, and authentication credentials.
Profile and Matching: Preferences, household details, compatibility responses, and matching outcomes.
Verification and Trust: Identity and address check outcomes and suitability check status (e.g., police check passed/failed/expired). We store outcomes and reference numbers rather than raw identity documents where possible.
Payments and Billing: Transaction identifiers and subscription status. In-app payments are handled via Apple or Google. Web payments for auxiliary services are processed via Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers.
Safety and Incidents: Reports of inappropriate behavior or safety concerns and related investigation outcomes.
Technical and Usage: IP address, device type, logs, approximate location (for regional eligibility), and app instance identifiers.
Cookies and SDKs: We use cookies on our website and SDKs (including communication and analytics tools) in the app to secure the Platform, detect fraud, and understand usage.
3. WHY WE COLLECT AND USE INFORMATION
To administer accounts, facilitate matching and introductions, verify eligibility, protect members, prevent fraud, send operational communications (SMS and email), improve the Platform, and comply with Australian law.
If you do not provide required information, we may be unable to provide access to certain features.
4. SENSITIVE INFORMATION
We handle sensitive information (such as police check status) only for verification and safeguarding purposes. We collect this with your express consent unless an exception under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies.
5. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We disclose personal information only as needed:
To Members: Limited profile data to support matching. We minimize the sharing of direct contact details until a mutual agreement is reached.
To Service Providers: Cloud hosting, verification partners, communication tools (e.g., Twilio/SendGrid), and payment processors.
Legal and Safety: Where required by law or to prevent a serious threat to life, health, or safety.
Overseas: Some providers may process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. ACCOUNT DELETION AND DATA RIGHTS
You have the right to request access to your data or request that your account be deleted:
How to Delete:
In-App: Settings > Account > Delete Account.

What Happens: Your profile is immediately hidden from the matching pool. We permanently delete or de-identify your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain specific records for taxation, fraud prevention, or safety audits.
Third-Party Data: Deleting your AbodeMatch account does not delete records held by independent third-party verification providers (e.g., identity or police check services).

7. SECURITY
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access controls, and secure development practices to protect your data.
