  1. Overview

    These Terms govern your use of the AbodeMatch app and website (Platform). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

  2. Eligibility and membership

    (a) You must be 18+ to hold an account.

    (b) If you include information about a minor occupant in your household, you warrant you have authority to provide that information.

    (c) Membership access is subject to verification (including identity and, where applicable, police check status) performed by third party providers. Verification supports safer introductions but does not guarantee any member’s future conduct.

    (d) AbodeMatch is a matching and facilitation service only. We are not a real estate agent, landlord, property manager, or a party to any lease, licence, or boarder and lodger agreement between members.

  3. User conduct, reporting and enforcement

    (a) You must not use the Platform for unlawful purposes or post content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful.

    (b) You can report or block other members via in app tools.

    (c) We may moderate content and take action to protect members and the Platform, including removal, restrictions, suspension, or termination.

  4. Fees, payments, subscriptions and refunds

    (a) In app purchases: Membership and verification fees started in the app are processed via Apple In App Purchase or Google Play Billing (as applicable) and subject to the relevant store terms.

    (b) Subscription management: Renewals and cancellations are managed in Apple ID subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play subscriptions (Android). Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

    (c) Web payments: Some auxiliary services may be offered via our website and processed via Stripe. Where a digital membership is purchased within the iOS or Android app, payment is processed via Apple In App Purchase or Google Play Billing respectively. The app does not provide links or prompts to purchase digital memberships outside the app except where permitted by applicable app store rules.

    (d) Discount codes may reduce or waive certain fees, subject to any conditions disclosed at redemption.

    (e) Refunds: For Apple or Google purchases, request refunds through Apple or Google. Website purchases are handled in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

  5. Cancellation, termination and account deletion

    (a) You may end your membership at any time. If billed via Apple or Google, you must cancel through the relevant store subscription settings.

    (b) You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information:

    • In app: Settings > Account > Delete Account

    • Online: www.abodeplatforms.com.au/account-deletion-request

    (c) After deletion, your profile is removed from matching. We take reasonable steps to delete or permanently de identify personal information unless we are required or authorised to retain certain records for legal, taxation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or safety and audit purposes.

    (d) We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or present safety risks.

  6. Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Abode Platforms Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, or any personal injury or property damage, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform or any subsequent shared living arrangements. Members assume all risks associated with meeting and entering into private residential agreements.

    Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.

  7. Intellectual property

    AbodeMatch branding, content, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non transferable licence for personal, non commercial use.

  8. Governing law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You agree to submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms.
